Stuka Extends Hitting Streak But Sox Fall To Falcons

Luc Stuka picked up a pair of hits but the Wenatchee AppleSox fell to the Kelowna Falcons, 11-7, on Wednesday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

Stuka recorded his third multi-hit game of the summer and extended his hitting streak to six games but the AppleSox could not overcome allowing six runs in the top of the first inning.

Joichiro Oyama hit his first home run of the season with a leadoff shot to open up the bottom of the ninth.

The AppleSox did not get on the board until putting up a three-spot in the seventh inning. Five straight hitters reached based and Adam Fahsel picked up an RBI single to plate the first run before plating another run with an RBI groundout in the next inning. They scored all seven of their runs in the final three innings.

Wenatchee will play its third consecutive rubber match in the winner-take-the-series game on Thursday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium. It’s Armed Forces Night and all active or retired military members receive free admission by showing their military ID at the gate for the 6:35 p.m. game.
