The Wenatchee AppleSox (5-8, 2-4 North), fifth place in the division, continue a six-game road trip in Oregon against the Bend Elks (6-10, 6-6)...Wenatchee set new highs for runs in a game, hits in a game, runs in an inning, and hits in an inning, Tuesday...six of the AppleSox nine hitters finished with multi-hit nights...the AppleSox are playing their 17th franchise season (12th in the WCL) and are led by second-year skipper, AJ Proszek (34-38) (.472), who is in his 4th season with the Sox...Proszek is assisted by Kyle Hunt and Colton Loomis, both in their first seasons.
LAST NIGHT -- APPLESOX 11, ELKS 0
BEND – The Wenatchee AppleSox (5-8), utilized a nine-run third inning, Tuesday night, to lead the way in an 11-0 shutout over the Bend Elks (6-10) at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend, Ore...the AppleSox utilized a nine-run third inning to supply the bulk of the game’s offense...after Jeremy Ydens and Matt Fraizer opened the frame with singles, Evan Douglas drove home Ydens on an RBI single to give Wenatchee an early 1-0 lead...a follow-up RBI single for Michael Toglia and a walk of Ryan Kreidler set up the bases loaded for Alex Gonzales with a 2-0 lead and one out...Gonzales unloaded the bases with a 3-RBI triple over the head of the Elk’s center fielder AJ Valencia...Douglas scored easily, while Kreidler was hot on the heels of Toglia, scoring just after his first baseman was able to stand up, following his slide into home...with a 5-0 lead, Wenatchee continued to pile on the runs...Shane Martinez came up with an additional 2-run single, and a third run scored on an error...a Fraizer RBI double completed the frame...Wenatchee added two runs in the fifth off of Jake Forrester, on a 2-RBI triple for Toglia that carried over the head of Valencia...in a lineup comprised of eight true freshmen, six batters came up with multiple hits...the run support was earned for AppleSox starter Ross Clevenger (1-0). In his first start of 2016, following three relief appearances, Clevenger dialed up five scoreless innings, while only allowing two hits. He had retired seven-consecutive batters when he left the contest...Matt Young pitched the final four innings of relief to earn the save.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Wenatchee came up with new season highs in hits in a game (16), runs in a game (11), runs in an inning (9), and hits in an inning (7), last night at Vince Genna Stadium...in fact, the nine runs scored in the top of the third were more than in any previous league game during the 2016 season.
THE LAST TIME...
You’re probably wondering the last time the AppleSox came up with 10 or more runs and 15 or more hits in a game...Wenatchee last scored 10 runs at home, Aug. 2, 2015 against Victoria...the team tallied 17 hits at Kelowna July 30, 2015.
FIERY FRAIZER
Matt Fraizer is having quite the start to his 2016 season...hitting .345 in his first seven games, Fraizer has more hits in the last ten games (10), and the last five games (7) than any of his other AppleSox teammates, including four players who have played in more than seven of the last 10 games...Fraizer was 4-for-6 last night with a run scored and an RBI...the last time an AppleSox player collected four hits in a game was July 31, 2015 at home against the Victoria HarbourCats...Joey Jansen accomplished the feat.
DOUGLAS KEEPS HITTING
Evan Douglas has hit safely in eight-consecutive games...a season-high hitting streak for the AppleSox, and a new AppleSox career-high hitting streak...he previously attained streaks of seven-consecutive games on two occassions in 2015 (June 14-28 & July 29-Aug. 5).
BLANKED
Wenatchee shut out Bend for its second shutout of the 2016 season...if you factor in a non-league shutout over the weekend, the AppleSox have thrown three shutouts in the last seven nights...Wenatchee threw four shutouts in all of the 2016 season.
LATELY
Over the last five games, the AppleSox pitching staff is near the league-low in ERA...with a 2.06 ERA over the last five, the only WCL team with a better mark is Bellingham at 1.88...Bend on the other hand ranks ninth at 5.22...the Sox are also hitting .249 over the last five games with three home runs, and 26 RBI.
HOT BATS
Five AppleSox hitters are attaining batting averages above .300 over the last five games...Evan Douglas leads the charge at .556 (5x9, 2RBI), followed by Michael Toglia (6x15, 6RBI) and Shane Martinez (2x5, 2RBI) at .400...then Jordan Rathbone is hitting .385 (5x13, 4RBI), and Matt Fraizer is at .318 (7x22, RBI).
FILLED UP
With bases-loaded hitting success last night, the AppleSox are now batting .286 with 14 RBI in 14 at bats with the bases loaded in 2016...the Sox are up to a .293 average with two outs and runners in scoring position.
