THE TURNAROUND
Last night, the Wenatchee AppleSox won their 19th WCL game of the season, which equals the team’s win total from a year ago...the AppleSox are five wins from tying their 2015 total of 24 and 11 wins from equaling the 2014 team’s 30-win total...to guarauntee a winning record, the AppleSox will need to win nine of their remaining 20 league games...the last time the AppleSox went to the playoffs, (2013) the team won 29 games.

WCL NORTH SUCCESS
The AppleSox are 11-5 this season against the WCL North (8-10 versus the South)...the record includes seven-straight wins versus the North and wins in nine of the last 10 divisional matchups.

IF IT’S A WIN...
Tonight, the AppleSox can draw even in the WCL North Second Half playoff race...Victoria (6-4) is not in league action tonight, and the AppleSox currently are .5 games behind the division-leading HarbourCats...Victoria and Wenatchee will not face each other head-to-head in the second half of the season.

TOP DOG
Collin Maier will get the nod as the starter tonight for the Wenatchee AppleSox...he currently leads the WCL with five wins this season (5-1)...Maier is making the first of two final scheduled AppleSox starts this year...he will be shut down after his next two starts, to preserve his arm for the upcoming season at WSU.

KEEP IT ROLLING
Although Maier didn’t earn a win his first time out against the Kelowna Falcons (July 9), he did work six innings and only allowed four runs...he surrendered seven hits and walked three while striking out three...Kelowna’s Chris Arpan and JT Williams each hit solo home runs off of Maier in his first outing vs. Kelowna.

FIRST SINCE...
If the AppleSox can pick up the series win tonight in Kelowna, it will be their first road series win at Kelowna since July 28-30, 2015 (two games-to one).
