Scouting the Opponent
Port Angeles, despite winning back-to-back games for the first time in a week, is last in the North division. However, the Lefties are threatening with the bats despite their poor record.
They lead the West Coast League with 55 home runs, which is 18 more than the next-closest team. Additionally, the Lefties have seven players with five or more home runs.
The Lefties are led by Dalton Harum, who leads the team with eight home runs and a .352 batting average. The Wenatchee native and Wenatchee High School graduate is second in the WCL in home runs.
Harum, who goes to Virginia Tech, played for the AppleSox in 2016. He hit .261 with one home run in six games.
Playoff Race
The AppleSox enter tonight’s game 4.5 game out of first place. The Sox are 6-4 in their last 10 and have put themselves in a stellar spot to conclude the season. However, there is still some work to be done.
With nine games left in the season, every one of them matters. The Sox need to each series and maybe sweep a couple of them. Additionally, they’ll need the first-place Yakima Valley Pippins to falter along the way.
