Altenberger Leads Sox to Series Win Over Falcons

KELOWNA, B.C. - The AppleSox defeated the Kelowna Falcons, 6-4, to pick up their sixth consecutive victory on Wednesday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

Ryan Altenberger hit a three-run home run in the third inning after the Falcons scored twice in the bottom of the second. Dalton Harum hit a two-run bomb in the fifth and Kody Darcy hit a sacrifice fly in that same frame.

Altenberger, one of four AppleSox All-Stars, reached base four four times with a single and two walks to go with his home run. The incoming junior at Xavier now leads the WCL with 25 walks.

Ryan Long (2-3) went five innings to get the win and Brett Gillis struck out seven in the final three innings to get his first save of the season.

The Sox go for their third sweep of the year when they face the Elks again at 6:35 Thursday night.
