Duffalo Plates Three But Sox Fall to Knights
/Dakota Duffalo drove in three runs but the Wenatchee AppleSox fell to the Corvallis Knights 14-7 on Saturday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.
Duffalo brought across the game’s first two runs with a 2-RBI double in the third and then hit a two-out solo home run in the fifth for his first bomb of the season. Duffalo now moves into a tie for fifth in the West Coast League in batting average with his .333 mark.
Though Wenatchee led 2-0 after three innings, the Knights answered with a six-run top of the fourth before adding four more in the fifth and effectively putting the game out of reach.
Jack Lee struck out four and did not allow any runs through his first three innings on the mound, but allowed four runs (three earned) in the fourth inning to give up the lead and suffer the loss.
The AppleSox look to salvage the series against Corvallis on Sunday night at 5:35 p.m. Tickets are available at applesox.com/tickets.
