Wenatchee Probable Pitcher: Cam Hoiland makes his third start and fourth appearance tonight after earning the victory last Thursday vs. Victoria... He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits, four walks and one strikeout over five innings at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium... Hoiland, an incoming senior at Cal Poly, is 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA, five strikeouts, six walks and eight hits over 9.1 innings...

Edmonton Probable Pitcher: David Stuart starts five days after his third relief appearance and preps for his third start of the summer in the rubber match... He fired scoreless fourth and fifth innings last Saturday vs. Kamloops, striking out one and only allowing one hit... Stuart is 2-1 with a 6.35 ERA, 10 strikeouts, 11 walks and 10 hits over 11.1 innings... The incoming senior at Texas A&M Corpus Christi made his last start on June 27 vs. Bellingham, surrendering five runs (two earned) on five hits, three walks and two strikeouts in 3.2 innings...

Last Game: The AppleSox scored a season-high 17 runs in a 17-5 win vs. the Riverhawks... Aidan Dougherty and Cannon Peery both drove in four runs apiece and Garrett Ahern tossed a season-high 5.2 innings to earn his second win... Wenatchee’s 12-run win marked its second-largest margin of victory behind a 15-2 win June 2 vs. Port Angeles... The AppleSox scored in seven-of-eight innings...

Runs, Runs Runs: Wenatchee leads the WCL with 258 runs, 58 more than the next-closest team... The AppleSox have plated 42 runs over their last three games and 91 in their last nine games... Wenatchee needs 131 more runs to break its single-season record of 388 from two summers ago and would need to average 6.89 runs per game over its final 19 games... This all comes despite being shut out three times this summer, the most in a season since being shut out six time in 2018...

Dougherty - All-Star Snub?: Aidan Dougherty continued to plead his case for why he should have been a WCL All-Star with a two more hits last night... He is 5-for-8 with 6 RBI, three walks, five runs and three stolen bases the last two days... Dougherty, the reigning NWAC batting champion and NWAC Tournament MVP, has recorded nine multi-hit games and is hitting .520 in 12 home games... Dougherty is fourth among the eight WCL players with at least 25 games played hitting .320-or-better and is the only one who is not a WCL All-Star...

Scoring First And In The First: The AppleSox snapped a 12-game streak of not scoring before their opponent and a 10-game streak of not scoring in the first inning... Wenatchee had not scored in the first inning since tallying twice in the bottom of the first in a 17-4 win vs. Kelowna June 26 and most recently scored before it opponent with a four-run bottom of the first in an eventual 11-3 win vs. Kelowna June 24...

Rubber Matches: Wenatchee is 5-1 in rubber matches and is looking for its ninth series victory of the summer... A win tonight would give the AppleSox their third consecutive series victory to open up the second half...

2024 WCL All-Stars: Evan Canfield, Jonathan Fitz, Max Hartman and Quincy Vassar have all been selected as 2024 WCL All-Stars representing the AppleSox July 17 at Joe Martin Field... The North Division First Half Champs will send the third-most players in the division to next week’s All-Star Game in Bellingham... Wenatchee’s four All-Stars are third behind Edmonton’s five and Bellingham’s six... Edmonton is sending Tate Dearing, Vicarte Domingo, Bryce McFeely, Jakob Poturnak and Michael Soper to the All-Star Game... The 2024 WCL All-Star Game will be televised on MLB Network...

First Half Champs: For the first time since the two-half playoff berths began being awarded in 2016 the AppleSox have won the North Division first half title and have locked up home-field advantage as the top seed in the first round of the playoffs… This is the 16th playoff berth in franchise history and the fourth in the last five seasons… Wenatchee had to wait for the result of Edmonton's game on Monday before officially claiming the title… The AppleSox and the Riverhawks both finished with 18-9 records in the first half but Wenatchee (+37) held a better run differential than the Riverhawks (+35)…
