AppleSox Can't Finish Off Sweep Of NorthPaws
/The Wenatchee AppleSox recorded double-digit hits for a fifth consecutive game but fell to the Kamloops NorthPaws, 11-6, on Sunday afternoon at Norbrock Stadium.
Wenatchee led, 5-2, midway through the series finale but gave up six runs in the bottom of the fifth and never led or tied from that point on. The AppleSox scored the game’s first two runs in the first inning before adding two more in the third and one in the fourth before the big NorthPaws’ fifth inning.
Nine-of-10 AppleSox batters with at least one at-bat recorded a hit. Brooks Rasmussen continued his stellar start to his AppleSox tenure by going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Adam Fahsel recorded his second multi-hit game in the last three days with a 2-for-4 showing.
The AppleSox end the regular season 10-2 against expansion teams. Wenatchee previously swept Springfield, Nanaimo and Kamloops before taking two-of-three against Edmonton and in their second series against the NorthPaws.
Wenatchee returns home Monday to face the Cascade Collegiate League Showcase at 6:35 p.m. at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium. Only four home games remain in the regular season and tickets four all four can be purchased at saferseating.com.
